In house Christmas Advent Calendar Game
Each year, LSi increase customer engagement with an advent calendar giveaway coupled with an interactive element. Customers get to know the people behind the phone calls and emails, and we drive people to the pages we want them to see on our website.
The Challenge
To create a marketing campaign that stands out from the crowd and is interactive, whilst promoting our range of promotional products.
Christmas is the most popular time to run a marketing campaign, with companies trying to show their customers that their business has been appreciated. There is no better way to do this than with a promotional gift. But the challenge was how to do this in a unique way that would make a lasting impression.
The Solution
An advent calendar and game, which allows customers to interact with the LSi website in order to find a chosen icon for their chance to win a prize.
With advent calendars being an iconic part of Christmas and a product which we can personalise, we decided to create a game over the 12 working days up to Christmas. Allowing our customers to receive a chocolate treat every day, but also giving them the opportunity to win a great prize.
The Details
In order to implement this campaign a number of steps needed to be undertaken and playing customers needed to go through the following stages.
- Our Christmas theme and branding are chosen
- Key customers are sent our 24-day advent calendar along with their unique login details
- Each day customers open their calendar
- On working days there is a clue on the inside of the door directing them to a section of the LSi website to look for a Christmas icon.
- Once they found the icon, they needed to click on it to start a video. The video featured a member of the LSi team who was congratulating them for finding that days icon. Please click here to view our videos.
- After entering their unique login details, a random generator working with pre-set odds then played the user either a winner or loser video, again this featured members of our staff. Please click here to view our videos.
- Our winning prizes included personalised Jager bottles and glasses, personalised power banks, iPads and cinema tickets, as well as chocolates and cuddly toys.
The Results
The means of this campaign was to spread brand awareness and thank our customers for their business throughout 2018, as well as having fun in the process.
Throughout the 12 working days, we received over 9000 plays, 750 unique plays, with 182 prizes being won in total. We also received increased engagement on Facebook and Twitter and increased likes and followers thanks to customers thanking us for their gifts.
